Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy and Regenerative Medicine
PRP therapy is a cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatment that uses your body’s natural healing properties to repair damaged tissues and reduce pain. At Spine West, we leverage the advanced Arthrex Angel® System, which offers unparalleled precision and customization for PRP formulations, ensuring optimal results for our patients.
What is PRP?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a concentrated solution of platelets and growth factors derived from your own blood. These growth factors promote inflammation and healing in injured tissues.
Common conditions treated
Tendon/Ligament Injuries: Plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, and rotator cuff tears.
Chronic Conditions: Iliotibial band syndrome, bursitis, and degenerative joint issues.
Soft Tissue Healing: Enhances recovery for sprains and strains.
Benefits of PRP
Natural Healing: Uses your own blood to stimulate recovery.
Minimally Invasive: Reduces the need for surgery or long-term medications.
Fewer Risks: PRP is safer and more sustainable than steroid injections.
Preparation & Post-Care
Before: Stop NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin) 1 week before and after the procedure. Stay hydrated and eat a good meal before your appointment.
After: Avoid anti-inflammatory medications to ensure the full effect of PRP. Manage soreness with Tylenol, ice, or heat as needed. Our providers will consult you on the best course of optimal recovery.
